Ellenson named USBWA Freshman All-American

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association named Marquette freshman forward Henry Ellenson to its freshman All-America team.

Ellenson joins LSU’s Ben Simmons, California’s Jaylen Brown, Duke’s Brandon Ingram and Kentucky’s Jamal Murray on the squad.

Simmons was named the winner of the Wayman Tisdale Award as the national freshman of the year.

Ellenson set Marquette’s scoring and rebounding records this season.  He also set freshman marks for scoring average (17.0), rebounding average (9.7), field goals made (194), field goals attempted (435), free throws made (143) and free throws attempted (191).
