Trooper Trevor Casper

Trooper Trevor Casper

A young state trooper from Kiel was killed while he was on duty one year ago today.

Twenty-one-year-old Trooper Trevor Casper was on patrol, by himself, for the first time, when he spotted a suspected bank robber’s car. The Kiel native followed Steve Snyder into Fond du Lac, and investigators say Snyder ambushed Casper. Snyder also died from gunshot wounds.

Capt. Anthony Burrell of the State Patrol says people around the state, and in Fond du Lac, remember Casper as a hero. He says he’ll always be honored that way.

Burrell says law enforcement is like a family, and they lost one of their members. He says they keep in touch with Casper’s family, and they’ll always do that.
