Janesville Police say video evidence doesn’t support the claim that a 15-year-old girl was groped outside Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally Tuesday in Janesville.
Chief Dave Moore says while there may not have been a sexual assault, the punch the girl delivered, and the pepper spray the man squirted at her are considered assault.
Moore says the teen is facing a disorderly conduct charge and has been referred to juvenile authorities.
Officers are still asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who used the pepper spray.
Police initially reported that the teen had punched a man after he groped her, and then a second man squirted her with pepper spray.
