Admirals swept in AHL playoffs

April 27, 2016 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Admirals logoThe Milwaukee Admirals have been swept from the American Hockey League playoffs after losing at Grand Rapids on Tuesday night, 4-1.

Adam Payerl scored the Admirals’ only goal late in the first period, and Grand Rapids scored three times in the second to hand Milwaukee its seventh straight post season defeat.

The Griffins entered the playoffs with a five game losing streak, and they advanced to the second round with three consecutive victories in their best of five series.

Milwaukee scored just three goals in the entire series, as Grand Rapids goaltender Tom McCollum had a .968 save percentage for the three contests.
