Wally Ellenson walks away from Marquette basketball

April 22, 2016 By Bill Scott

MarquetteGoldenEagles2Wally Ellenson will not return to the Marquette men’s basketball team next season.  Coach Steve Wojciechowski confirmed Thursday that Ellenson has quit the program, soon after his brother and teammate Henry Ellenson decided to turn pro.

Wally Ellenson will continue with the Marquette men’s outdoor track team this spring, as a four-time All-American in the high jump.  He has one year of eligibility left in both basketball and indoor track, and his future plans are not known.

Ellenson transferred to Marquette after two years with Minnesota, and he averaged tow points and two rebounds in eight minutes per game this season.
