The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had a 4-1 lead over the Beloit Snappers heading into the bottom of the fourth inning at Pohlman Field on Friday night. But the Snappers rallied in the bottom of the fourth and went on to win a shortened game 9-5 in Midwest League Action.
That bottom of the fourth featured a bank of lights going out to force a delay, a hit batsman, a walk, a wild pitch, five Wisconsin errors and twelve Beloit batters coming to the plate to score seven runs.
The Snappers added a run in the 5th before a snowstorm shortened the game to five innings.
The game started under sunny skies, but a 27 mph northwest wind cooled the 37 degree night to just 28.
Brewers shortstop prospect Isan Diaz homered to lead off the third for the Timber Rattlers. It was his first Midwest League homer.
The two teams shift to the Fox Cities to play the Timber Rattlers home opener this afternoon at 4:05 pm. The area has a fresh blanket of snow, which could jeopardize that contest.
