Lake Geneva mom who disappeared with sons faces charges

May 24, 2016 By WRN Contributor

Criminal charges have been filed against a Lake Geneva woman who had been reported missing with her three sons.

Forty-year-old Michalene Melges has been charged with interference with child custody, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and contributing to truancy.

Melges and her sons, 14-year-old Hans, 12-year-old Kristian and 10-year-old Maverik hadn’t been heard from for two weeks. She was charged hours after the four were located safe in Savannah, Georgia on Tuesday. A Lake Geneva police lieutenant said Melges was “cooperative but limited in her responses” to police and gave no “rhyme or reason” as to why she was in Georgia.
