Donald Trump has secured the number of delegates needed to secure the Republican presidential nomination, but has yet to secure the endorsement of House Speaker Paul Ryan, who had a phone call with Trump on Wednesday.
“We had a very productive phone call, I’ll leave it at that,” Ryan said.
During his weekly briefing with reporters in Washington, D.C. Thursday morning, Ryan was asked whether he’s concerned about how it looks to not be endorsing Trump, now that’s he has the delegates needed to secure the nomination at the Republican National Convention in July.
“What I’m most concerned about is making sure that we actually have real party unity, not pretend party unity,” Ryan said.
