At the NCAA Division 3 baseball Regionals,

Starting with the Midwest Regional in La Crosse, the host Eagles remain unbeaten in the double elimination tournament, rolling to a 12-3 win over Concordia-Chicago.

The victory puts the Eagles in the Midwest Regional Championship at 3:30 this afternoon.  It’s also the 37th win of the season for La Crosse, breaking the record of 36 set in 2015.

Taylor Kohlwey’s first inning double extended his hitting streak to 48 games, the second longest in NCAA Division III history.  He also tied his own school record (2014) with his 88th hit of the season, and broke the UWL single-season record for doubles in a season with 21.  Kohlwey would later add his 89th hit of the season.

In the Central Regional in Sauget, Illinois, Whitewater fell to Rose Hulman 8-0, then bounced back to knock off Washington University 9-8 in an elimination game last night.

D-1 Baseball Action

UW-Milwaukee downed Oakland 8-4 in Horizon League action, locking up the 2-seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament.  The Panthers improved to 31-23 overall, 17-10 in league play.

Kane County 3, Wisconsin 1
Peoria 8, Beloit 3
