Brewers earn split

June 23, 2016 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers earned a split of their two-game interleague series with the Oakland A’s on Wednesday afternoon, winning 4-2.

Rookie righthander Junior Guerra pitched seven solid innings in earning his fourth win of the season. Scooter Gennett each homered, as Milwaukee finished their disappointing 2-7 road trip on a high note.

Gennett’s two-run home run highlighted the three-run fifth inning, which also featured a pair of Oakland defensive gaffes.

Tyler Thornberg picks up his second save. Milwaukee will take Thursday off before returning to Miller Park to face the Washington Nationals on Friday night.
