The Wisconsin State Patrol says two people are dead and three others were injured, following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 41 at Fond du Lac.
State Patrol Captain Tony Burrell says it happened just before noon Wednesday, when a vehicle rear-ended a semi-truck that was slowing down in the northbound lane of I-41, just south of State Highway 23. Two people were dead at the scene, while one victim was air-lifted to a hospital and two others were taken by ambulance.
Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary the driver of a Jeep involved in the crash was thrown from the vehicle.
The crash forced policee to close the northbound lanes of the interstate. An investigation is ongoing.
