Mike and Jessica McCarthy not only enjoy raising money for the American Family Children’s Hospital, they also enjoy spending time with the children, many of whom are terminally ill.

Mike McCarthy said the children at the hospital are empowering.

For the seventh straight year, the Green Bay Packers head coach and his wife, raised money for the Children’s Hospital by appearing at a dinner, that included an auction and a silent auction.

On Monday, they tee’d off at the Legend of Bergamont Golf Course in Oregon.  The event raised $440,000 for the hospital this year, raising the total amount raised to more than $1.8 million over its seven year run.

McCarthy said, “It’s been very rewarding. It’s  been an honor and a privilege to try to help these families and these children and definitely to the betterment of the American Family Children’s Hospital. So we feel great about what we’ve done in these first seven years. We built this charity to be bigger and stronger every single year. It’s raising money to make sure the hospital has the resources to continue to support these children and their families.”
