Nelson, Brewers fall to Phillies

June 4, 2016 By Bill Scott

Brewers logoMilwaukee Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson entered Friday nights game at Philadelphia with a team high eight quality starts, including four in a row.  That streak ended for Nelson. lasting a season-low four innings in a 6-3 loss to the Phillies.

Nelson coughed up all six Phillies runs and all were earned.  The Phillies scored three runs in the third and three more in the fourth.

Nelson allowed seven hits and three walks and served up a season high two home runs and ended with just one strikeout.

Nelson had gone fewer than six innings just twice this season.  That total grew by one last night.

Neil Ramirez made his Brewers debut out of the bullpen, pitching a scoreless fifth inning and striking out two.

The two teams split the first two games in the series.  Game three of the four-game set is tonight.
