Worker dies in crane accident at Mosinee plant

June 14, 2016 By WRN Contributor

One man is dead after an accident involving a crane at Crystal Finishing Systems in Mosinee. Mosinee Police Chief Kenneth Muelling said the 51-year-old man was fatally injured at the plant.  The man’s name is being withheld until his family is notified.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. Mosinee Fire Chief Doug Jennings confirmed they were called to extricate the victim from a heavy equipment incident, and that there was no fire or hazardous materials emergency.

Crystal Finishing Systems President Mark Matthiae said there were no witnesses to what occurred, and that they are working closely with investigators and with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to fully understand the cause of the accident.
