The Milwaukee Brewers suffered another walk-off loss falling 3-2 to the Pirates in the series opener in Pittsburgh Tuesday.
Josh Harrison tripled leading off the bottom of the ninth and scored when the throw from the outfield skipped past Milwaukee third baseman Hernan Perez and out of play.
The Brewers had rallied in the top half of the ninth as Perez’s RBI single with two outs scored Ryan Braun and tied the game, but the tie was short-lived. Perex also drove in Milwaukee’s only other run on a ground out scoring Chris Carter in the fourth.
Junior Guerra tossed a quality stat going six innings and giving up two earned runs on just three hits. Tyler Thornburg takes the loss in relief.
