The Milwaukee Brewers dropped both ends of a day/night doubleheader against the Cubs, 4-0 and 4-1 at Wrigley Field on Tuesday.
The Cubs held the Brewers to one run in 18 innings. The Brewers managed just nine hits in the two games combined, only one of the nine went for extra bases.
The Brewers also lost outfielder Ryan Braun and pitcher Chase Anderson during the game with injuries.
Braun left the game after chasing a foul fly down the left-field line off the bat of Ben Zobrist in the fourth inning. He jammed his left leg hard into the side wall and eventually limped off.
Chase Anderson was hit by a line drive off the bat of Khris Bryant, on the inner thigh near his left knee in the first inning. Anderson was able to throw Bryant out at first base but couldn’t continue. His injury was described as a bruised quadriceps.
The Brewers have now dropped eight of the eleven games played against the Cubs this season. Game three of the four-game series is tonight.
