Zach Davies allowed just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, pitching the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park on Tuesday night.

Davies (9-4) allowed six hits, walked two and struck out four.  He improved to 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA over his last five starts.

Carlos Torres threw two pitches to get the final out of the sixth inning, then six more pitches to dispatch the Padres in the seventh.

Corey Knebel set the Padres down in the eighth and Tyler Thornburg worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning to record his third save of the season.

Ryan Braun returned to the lineup after missing the last five games and clubbed a home run.  Chris Carter drove in the eventual game winning run with a double.

The Brewers also saw their top prospect, Orlando Arcia make his major league debut in that game.  He handled everything in the field but went 0 for 4 at the plate in his debut.

The two teams play the rubber game of the series this afternoon.  Junior Guerra (7-2) gets the start for the Brewers.
