Wisconsin Badgers head football coach Paul Chryst has named fifth-year senior Bart Houston the teams starting quarterback to open the season against LSU on September 3 at Lambeau Field.

Houston has played in 15 games in three seasons at Wisconsin, but the season opener against LSU, will be his first collegiate start.

Overall, Houston has completed 29 of 51 for 295 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in three seasons for the Badgers.  His most extensive playing time came last season at Illinois when Houston replaced the injured Joel Stave and led the Badgers to a 24-13 win.

Houston beat out redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook for the starters job.  Wisconsin will resume practice Friday as it gets ready for LSU.
