Madison police said a woman who nearly struck a bicyclist while speeding down State Street early Wednesday morning responded to being pulled over by cracking open a can of beer.
A police incident report said 42-year old Chenoa Taylor was driving fast down State Street when an MPD officer on foot spotted her. The street is closed
The officer used her flashlight to beam the driver while yelling at her to slow down, but instead of backing off the accelerator, Taylor continued to travel at 40 mph, nearly striking a bicyclist.
According to MPD, the officer got in her squad car and pulled Taylor over. Taylor refused to get out of the car and opened a can of beer, and it took several officers to get her out of the car, under control and in handcuffs.
