Trump ‘not quite there yet’ on endorsing Ryan

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump says he’s not ready endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan in his bid for reelection. Wisconsin’s Ryan faces a Republican primary challenge next Tuesday from businessman Paul Nehlon, whom Trump praised for running a “very good campaign.”

In an interview, Trump refused to endorse Ryan, saying he’s “not quite there yet” — language very similar to that employed by Ryan before he decided to endorse the GOP presidential candidate. A Ryan spokesman said the Janesville Republican has never asked for Trump’s endorsement.
