A Wausau man faces more than 30 years in prison after his 10th OWI offense, this time with his infant son in the car.

51-year-old Joseph Grulkowski avoided crashing his pickup truck into another car Sunday, but ran it into a soybean field off County Highway M in Marathon County.  Officers found his blood alcohol content at .17, but he claimed he only had one beer and he was sleep-deprived from his 18-month-old son’s sleep pattern.

The infant was not injured and was taken from the scene by his mother.

Grulkowski was booked with his 10th OWI charge and bond was set at $50,000 cash Monday. He faces a possible 31 years in prison for the number of OWI offenses and for having the child in the car.
