Wisconsin home sales in July dropped for the first time this year, although they were still the second highest for the month since 2005.
Figures released by the Wisconsin Realtors Association show its members sold 8,189 homes in the state last month, which was down about 7.6 percent compared to July of last year. The dip in sales is blamed on fewer homes being on the market, and WRA president Mike Theo said there are no indications that the economy had anything to do with the decline.
The median price of a home sold in Wisconsin last month was $170,000 — which is up four percent from a year ago.
Over the first seven months of this year, the realtors group reports home sales are up 3.3 percent compared to 2015.
