Wisconsin junior inside linebacker Jack Cichy has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week for his efforts in the Badgers’ 16-14 win over fifth-ranked LSU last Saturday.
Cichy led the Badgers defense with eight tackles, including one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble. The Badger defense surrendered just seven points and 257 total yards in the win.
Like 2010 Lott IMPACT Trophy winner J.J. Watt and award finalist Jim Leonard, Cichy began his career at Wisconsin as a walk-on before later earning a scholarship. The Somerset native entered the season coming off a Defensive MVP performance in the 2015 Holiday Bowl in which he recorded sacks on three consecutive plays and recorded a team-high nine tackles.
