Rock County Courthouse tower coming down

September 27, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The Rock County Courthouse Tower may soon be coming down. The tower has been in disrepair since 2011, and has been roped off for the last couple years because of falling bricks.

Demolition was originally expected last fall, but those plans fell through. Now the county board has chosen a new company for the job. Elgin, Illinois-based American Demolition plans to begin work later this week.

The cost is expected to be slightly more than $262,000.  Work could be done by Thanksgiving.
