Chase ends in double-fatal crash

October 11, 2016 By WRN Contributor

A driver who sped off from a law enforcement stop was involved in a crash that took two lives. A Price County deputy attempted to pull over a driver in a Dodge Dakota pick-up trick for speeding on Highway 13 near Phillips at 11:00 Monday night. The truck initially stopped and then took off at high speed. The deputy gave chase.

The truck swerved into the southbound lane and crashed into an oncoming 2014 Jeep Cherokee near Dama Road. Both drivers were killed. Their names have not been released until family members can be notified.

Investigators have not determined why the driver fled. The road was blocked for nearly nine hours while an accident reconstruction team worked in the area.
