You’ll see plenty of Wisconsin license plates sporting the logos of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers, but up until now, fans of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks have lacked a plate of their own.
That’s about to change, as the state Division of Motor Vehicles is now accepting orders for a long-awaited Milwaukee Bucks specialty license plate. The green plates carry the Bucks logo and the slogan Fear The Dear.
Bucks fans who wish to purchase the plate will pay a $15 issuance fee for non-personalized plates and an additional $25 tax-deductible donation, which is also required at each renewal. Funds generated from the Bucks plates will go toward the organization’s construction costs of the team’s new arena and facilities in the Milwaukee entertainment district, as well as the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation.
Specialty license plates can also be personalized. A $15 personalized plate fee is required each year in addition to the regular annual registration fee. A handy online tool checks whether the personalized plate has already been issued. It can take 4-6 weeks for the manufacturing and mailing process before the plates arrive.
A complete list of specialty plates is available online at the WisDOT website.
