O’Leary in as State Fair Park CEO

October 25, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The Wisconsin State Fair’s interim Chief Executive Officer will keep that job. Kathleen O’Leary says she has a “robust vision” for the Fair and its West Allis grounds — including renovations on the park’s west end.

O’Leary beat out former state lawmaker Scott Gunderson and Midwest Horse Fair GM Rhonda Reese.

Former State Fair Park CEO Rick Frenette was let go in May for giving pay raises to himself and other execs without going through the state approval process. O’Leary rose through the ranks since joining the State Fair in 1998. She was previously the fair’s chief operating officer.
