The Wisconsin women’s basketball team stumbled in its home opener, falling to Saint Francis of Pennsylvania, 103-100 at the Kohl Center.

Junior guard Cayla McMorris poured in a career-high 31 points, hitting a career-best 12-of-22 from the field, leading the Badgers (0-2) for the second straight game.

The Badgers shot 43% (37-for-86) from the field and out-rebounded Saint Francis 61-41.  The Red Flash also shot 43% from the field, but hit 15 shots from beyond the arc.

Three Badgers joined McMorris in double-figure scoring.  Courtney Frederickson had 18 points, Avyanna Young added 17 and freshman Gabby Gregory scored 12 points.  Young also grabbed 15 rebounds for her 17th career double-double.

The Badgers turned the ball over 25 times in the loss.  The Badgers return to action Wednesday night at home against Dayton.
