The College Football Playoff committee has put the two-loss Wisconsin Badgers in the eight spot in the initial College Football Playoff Top 25. It puts the Badgers in the playoff conversation with a lot of football still to be played.
The Badgers (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) are 3-2 against teams ranked in the top 10 at the time the game was played.
Alabama received the top spot in the poll, followed by Clemson, Michigan, Texas A & M and Washington to round out the top five. The second five has Ohio State at six, followed by Louisville, Wisconsin, Auburn and Nebraska at number ten.
The Badgers, who are also 8th in both of the weekly top 25 college polls, will need to win their remaining games and the Big Ten title game to have a chance to slide into the four-team college football playoff.
The Badgers will start by facing Northwestern (4-4, 3-2) on Saturday. Wisconsin hasn’t won in Evanston since the 1999 season..
