Teen arrested in Wauwatosa cemetery thefts

December 6, 2016 By WRN Contributor

Wauwatosa police have arrested a 16 year-old suspect in connection with a series of thefts from people visiting Valhalla Cemetery. One victim says he was accosted by two teens while visiting the graves of loved ones last month.

Kenneth Johlke said the two teens — one armed with a tazer — took his car keys. “He said he was going to smash me in the face if I didn’t shut up,” Johlke said. He said the teens tore his pants to get his car keys and then drove out of the main entrance.

Johlke’s was one of two vehicle thefts reported at Valhalla Cemetery in the past month. His car, stolen on November 27, is still missing. The suspect in custody is also believed to be responsible for at least two other carjackings.
