Truck connected to fatal Rock Co. fire spotted in Indiana

December 6, 2016 By WRN Contributor

A pickup truck sought in connection to a fatal Rock County fire has been spotted in South Central Indiana. Todd Christianson is with the Rock County Sheriff’s office said police in Bedford spotted the red Chevy S-10 in a parking lot just hours after the November 28 fire that killed 62-year-old Tom McGowan in his home west of Beloit. That was before an alert had been broadcast to law enforcement regionally.

Sheriff’s investigators say a drifter staying at McGowan’s house had been allowed to use the truck. Investigators continue to search for the man, who is a person-of-interest, but has yet to be positively identified. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
