Wisconsin will soon join the list of more than 30 states that will allow drivers to display a “Choose Life” license plate on their vehicle.
The plate, along with five other new designs, was approved and will be available to vehicle owners within the next year. Annual renewals of the plates provide a yearly $25 donation to the benefit their respective groups. The “Choose Life” plate will benefit Choose Life Wisconsin, Incorporated.
Julaine Appling, Choose Life Wisconsin president says pro-life plates issued nationwide have raised more than $23 million in the past 20 years, which has been used to help with adoptions and other “life-affirming educational work.”
The current proposed design for the plate features Wisconsin’s colors of red, white, and black, along with a graphic on the left side depicting a baby’s footprint in ink – similar to what’s seen on birth certificates. Displayed under the plate number in red will be the words “Choose Life.”
