Marquette prevails

Departures and injuries forced Marquette to play with just seven scholarship players, but the Golden Eagles held off Saint Francis (PA) 78-65 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Monday night.

Junior Andrew Rowsey poured in 22 points and Jujuan Johnson added 11 points and 11 rebounds to push the Golden Eagles to 8-3 on the season.

Green Bay wins in OT

Freshman guard Trevor Anderson (Stevens Point, WI) scored a career-high 23 points and Kerem Kanter nailed a turnaround jump hook with four seconds left to send Green Bay to a 94-92 win over SIU-Edwardsville in overtime on Monday night at the Resch Center.

Kanter finished with 17 points and seven rebounds for the Phoenix (5-6).  Jamar Hurdle added 16 points as Green Bay snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Cougars dropped to 4-8 with their fifth straight win.  They’ll face Marquette on Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

Panthers fall

The Milwaukee Panthers finally returned home, but still fell to Belmont 62-56 at Milwaukee Panther Arena on Monday night.

The Panthers dropped their fourth straight game and fell to 4-9.
