Sun Prairie man sentenced for serious drug trafficking

January 10, 2023 By Bob Hague

A ten year sentence for a Dane County man convicted of selling meth. Thirty-seven year-old Daniel Gibbs of Sun Prairie was sentenced on Friday to 10 years in federal prison. Gibbs pleaded guilty in September. He sold one pound of methamphetamine to a confidential source on three separate occasions.

In November 2021, agents executed a search warrant in Sun Prairie and found approximately four pounds of heroin, a kilogram press, and a loaded gun. At sentencing, US District Judge James Peterson noted Gibbs had previously served substantial time in federal prison for a violent crime involving kidnapping and extortion.
