He was in Tower Two during the attack on the World Trade Center and managed to get out alive. Now, a survivor of 9-11 living in Appleton says the death of Osama bin Laden was a long time coming.
John Reilly was on the 61st floor of Tower Number Two on that day nearly a decade ago, when the first plane crashed into Tower One. Reilly was in a stairwell 30 floors down when the second plane crashed into Tower Two and says he’s lucky to be alive.
Reilly says the news of bin Laden’s death will likely provide some closure for people impacted by the attacks. He hopes the souls of everyone killed by the terrorist leader, as well as bin Laden’s own, can now rest in peace.
However, Reilly adds that the struggle against terrorism is far from over. He says it was here long before bin Laden was around, and won’t disappear just because he’s dead.
