Lynn Clement with Wisconsin's Focus on Energy notes that incandescent light bulbs cost more to operate, for a very simple reason; they're extremely inefficient, with up to ninety percent of the electricity going to create heat. Focus on Energy, Wisconsin's energy efficiency and renewable energy initiative, is challenging state residents to change out their five most frequently used lighting fixtures. Households can save up to $60 a year on energy costs, while the state as a whole would save the equivalent of more than 358-thousand tons of coal from being burned.
Focus on Energy is offering a two dollar instant cash-back incentive on every Energy Star qualified CFL purchased between October 1st and November 30th.
