Pump prices are going down. Twenty-cents a gallon in some places. Erin Roth with the Wisconsin Petroleum Council says it's because the refineries are finally coming back on line and capacity is back up in the ninety percent range which is normal.
Pam Moen at Triple A Wisconsin says there's also been an increase in imported refined oil which also has helped supplies. Moen says the statewide average price per gallon is now three dollars-thirty cents a gallon and while that still seems high, it's better than where we were a few weeks ago.
But will prices ever drop below three dollars a gallon? Roth says that depends on the cost of crude and demand. Right now motorists in Europe, China and the U.S. can't seem to use enough gas.
