Smoking foes say Wisconsin isn’t doing enough to combat Big Tobacco.

Allison Miller of the Wisconsin chapter of the American Cancer Society says the state will spend about $7 million this year on anti-tobacco measures this year. However, she says the CDC recommends that we should be spending 10 times that much.

Miller says spending on smoking cessation programs took a big hit in the last state budget, even though tobacco taxes were increased. When that happens, she says people want to quit but can’t get help kicking the habit.
