The Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance is out with a new analysis on property taxes this year, which found a statewide 4.6 percent increase.

WISTAX researcher Ryan Parsons prepared the report. He says the big difference over last year dealt with increases in school district property tax levies. Parsons says last year there was a significant increase in state aid to schools, and that lowered their reliance on state aid and property taxes. However, he says that wasn't the case this year, which lead to levy increases.

Parsons says future increases will depend on what kind of property tax limits end up in the state budget.
