A Wisconsin Congressman says the inauguration of President Barack Obama was a tremendous event.

Congressman Steve Kagen (D-WI) was seated just behind the area where Obama was sworn in Tuesday. The Appleton Democrat says there was excitement everywhere.

From his vantage point, Kagen says he was able to see the massive crowd that turned out to watch Obama become the 44th President of the Unite States. He says it was overwhelming to see the glee people were feeling during the event.

Kagen had a chance to be right next to Obama as he came out to take the oath of office. He described the President as very excited and very thoughtful.

Due to a knee injury, Kagen says he'll be taking it easy tonight. He says his plans are to watch most of the festivities on TV.
