Tough economic times are making adults head back to school for job training. Paul Gabriel, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association , says tech colleges can pave the way for more pay despite the recession including training for jobs in green energy, electric utilities, police and fire.

Gabriel says some of these adult learners are missing some of the fundamentals and may need to catch up. The WTCDB is seeing a large number of the returning students lacking math and science skills. He says these students need not be embarrassed to seek the help they need which may include remedial level courses or tutoring.
