He just won the governorship for a second term, but Jim Doyle is not going to Disneyworld any time soon. Governor Jim Doyle has been burning the midnight oil, campaigning intensely throughout the state over the past several months, but spokesperson Dan Leistikow says this victory doesn't mean it's time to rest. “You know, I've had the honor of working for the governor for four years and I'm quite confident that he's barely going to take any rest at all. He just works incredibly hard for the state.” Leistikow says Doyle the governor was expected to be at work right away and get started on setting up his next Administration.

Leistikow says it was a great night and the governor got what he deserved. “The governor has worked very hard over the last four years to try to make life more affordable for Wisconsin families and he's gratified by this victory.”

Many Democrats in the crowd wore victory buttons, even before Republican candidate Mark Green conceded the race, but Leistikow says the governor did not take the victory for granted. He says Doyle has worked very hard over the last several months to win this victory. Leistikow says Doyle will continue working for affordable healthcare, education, and more jobs in Wisconsin.
