A woman charged with pulling the trigger in a Stevens Point murder-for-hire is competent to stand trial. Doctors initially said Linda Dietze was not fit enough to assist for her own defense because she suffered from anxiety and had nightmares of the victim covered in blood and screaming for help. The doctors and a judge have now determined that with help from a mental health facility and medication, the accused is now competent.
Dietze has entered an insanity plea to attempted homicide for shooting James Glodowski at a Stevens Point park in November. Portage County DA Tom Eagon says a doctor will now examine Dietze to see if she was, in fact, insane.
Prosecutors say Dietze tried to kill Glodowski so his wife could continue an affair with another man.
