Barring any last minute changes, it appears that infielder/outfielder Erick Almonte has made the Milwaukee Brewers opening day roster after coming to camp as a non-roster player.  At 33 years old, Almonte hasn’t played in the majors since 2003.  The final roster will be made known on Wednesday.

Almonte hit .320 with the Triple A Nashville Sounds last season, then followed that up by hitting .427 this spring.  Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Almonte has been very impressive.

Another non-roster player, Jeremy Reed is expected to be on the final roster when it’s announced tomorrow.  Reed hit .397 this spring with a .408 on-base percentage and 13 rbi’s.

Reliever Brandon Kintzler was told that he had won the final spot in the Brewers bullpen.
