The statewide Amber Alert for four missing children from Middleton, Wisconsin has been called off.
The four were found safely at a resort in Lake County Minnesota. Their father, Craig Underkofler was teken into custody.
No further details have been made available but a spokesman for the Middleton, WI Police Department says the arrest was made without incident thanks to the help of an alert citizen who recognized Underkofler from the Amber Alert and notified Lake County authorities.
Underkofler is a Lieutenant and twenty-five year veteran of the Madison Fire department. He took vacation days during this week and was scheduled to return to duty July sixth.
The Amber Alert was issued Tuesday morning when Underkofler's four children, ages 3, 13, 16 and 17 were not returned to their mother's house in Middleton at the proper time.
