Another Wisconsin super delegate endorses Democrat Barack Obama for president. Melissa Schroeder of Merrill says she endorsed Obama because she felt he could a better job of unifying the country for a common purpose. Schroeder is the secretary of the Democratic Party's 7th Congressional District and a member of the Democratic National Committee.

Schroeder met both candidates when they campaigned in Wisconsin ahead of the state's primary last month. But she says she was not persuaded by calls from both the campaigns for Obama or rival Hillary Clinton. She says her decision was based on studying the two and deciding which one could be the most unifying candidate.

Obama now has the endorsement from nine of Wisconsin's 16 super delegates. Clinton has support from two. The other five uncommitted super delegates include Senators Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl.
