An Argyle teenager has asked a Lafayette County judge to withdraw his guilty plea in the murders of his three young nephews.

Last month, 18-year-old Jeremy Wand pleaded guilty to three homicide charges in the deaths of the boys, who were killed in an arson fire last September at the home of his older brother Armin Wand III. Jeremy Wand was accused of helping to start the fire, which prosecutors say was set as part of a plot to collect insurance money.

Wand was scheduled to be sentenced on the charges Friday, but told the judge he was pressured by one his attorneys to accept a plea deal. The judge has set an August 22 hearing date to consider Wand’s request.

The fire claimed the lives of the three boys, while Armin Wand’s pregnant wife Sharon and his daughter were able to escape. Sharon Wand was badly burned in the fire and later lost their unborn child. Armin Wand was sentenced in April to three consecutive life sentences, after pleading guilty in the case..
