For the 9th time this year the Milwaukee Brewers failed to score a run in a game.  Last night, the Arizona Diamond Backs stopped the Crew 3-0 at Chase Field.

D-backs Rookie Josh Collmenter tormented the Brewers for the 2nd time this season.  Last night he gave up just 3-hits in 8-innings.  Back on July 6th, Collmenter tossed 6 shut-out innings of 3-hit baseball.  Brewers starter Randy Wolf says Collmenter is for real:

Wolf was solid despite falling to 6-7 on the year.  He went 7 1/3 surrendering 3-runs, 2-earned, on 8-hits.  It’s the 5th time this year the Brewers were shutout in a game Wolf started.

Ryan Braun missed his 2nd straight game and 10th in the last 13-games with a calf injury.  Manager Ron Roenicke said before the game he doesn’t think the DL will be necessary.  Milwaukee is 6-7 in that stretch.

Game 2 of the 4-game series is tonight as Yovani Gallardo takes on Barry Enright for an 8:40 first pitch.
