Almost a week after a bomb threat cleared the Wisconsin’s Capitol building in the middle of a state budget debate, police say they have made an arrest in connection with the incident.
A spokesman for the Department of Administration said Tuesday afternoon that police have a suspect in custody, but declined to release the name of the individual at this time.
The threat last Wednesday afternoon prompted a nearly two hour evacuation of the Capitol, just hours into a marathon debate in the Assembly on the state budget bill. Lawmakers were finally cleared to return to the Capitol and resumed their debate after police searched the building.
