A New York based educator is touring Southern Wisconsin using an arts-centered presentation to talk about eating disorders and body image issues. Robyn Hussa, NORMAL founder and CEO, says the goal is to “get a conversation going” about these topics and how food relates to managing stress.

Hussa says there is a misconception that eating disorders are a problem primarily affecting upper-middle class teenage girls. She says the issue affects those at the grade school level and she attributes binge eating as a cause of increasing obesity.

Hussa will draw on her Broadway background to present a workshop Wednesday at Marquette University.

Beginning February 27, presentations will follow at various campuses in Kenosha, Milwaukee and the suburbs, and Madison. These events feature an arts-based film and a discussion appropriate to the audience in attendance, whether college age or younger.
